ABOUT
Why stage a new opera today? Through subtle and playful trompe-l’œil, anamorphosis and metamorphosis, this new production invites us to consider the contemporary stakes involved in artistic creation and opera performance. The island of Naxos, a spectacular anamorphosis, reminding us that Naxos is nothing but a fictitious space, is constantly deconstructed, as the scenography evolves along the evening, in much the same way that the characters of the opera unravel, mutate and gradually reconstruct.
